Homewood Suites by Hilton Lynchburg

The suites are spacious and comfortable, and the hotel feels modern and well looked after. Friendly, professional staff made the stay even better. Brian Cardwell especially went out of his way to help people feel comfortable. He always greeted me by name and was quick to lend a hand. I look forward to staying here again next time I'm in Lynchburg.

Our 12U and 14U teams were allowed to use a conference room, giving the kids space to burn off energy, spend time together, and get ready for their games. That made this a particularly team friendly hotel, and it worked very well for families too. The dog friendly policy was another nice extra. Having an awesome bar and grill next door was the icing on the cake. We'd absolutely come back and recommend it to youth sports teams and families. We stayed in December for a 12U youth hockey tournament. Brian and the rest of the staff were welcoming, and the beautiful lobby made a great first impression. The well lit parking lot felt safe. Breakfast was very good and helped on busy tournament mornings. The rooms were breathtaking, with comfortable beds and lots of storage for kids' things and hockey gear.

The breakfast came on styrofoam plates even though there was plenty of regular plate ware. For $150, I'd expect a real plate. But the room was the real shock: lamp bulbs were missing, the TV mount was broken and left the screen crooked, and there was dirt in the shower grout and on the sheets. I'm not even sure the bed had sheets or just mattress pads. It was almost comical. I couldn't discourage anyone more strongly.

Check in was quick, the room was clean, and the desk staff were friendly. The highlight was meeting Brian Cardwell while we were having breakfast. He helped my kids make waffles and was incredibly friendly. As a business owner, he's exactly the kind of person I'd want on my team. I don't usually write reviews, but he went above and beyond to make breakfast great for us.
