Holiday Inn Express & Suites Auburn by IHG

We arrived at 2 a.m. after driving around for ages because everywhere else was full. The desk attendant was very helpful and kind. The room was clean, nice, and had comfortable beds. In the morning we discovered a flat tire, and the maintenance guy quickly helped us put on the spare. I can't say enough good things about the service.

I checked in, pulled back the covers, and found black chunks of unknown material, hair, and what might have been hamster bedding. There was dirt, crumbs, and bits of trash across the floor. The room had new towels, but the dirty bed had simply been remade. The clerk said they'd forgotten to clean it, but I didn't believe that. All they offered was another room. I had to stay because my ride was in a different room there. They should have a customer service protocol for something like this. Doing nothing else made it feel like they didn't care. Never again.

The service was awesome, and this is one of the nicest hotels around here. It's just off the main strip, outside town, but only five minutes from Walmart and surrounded by restaurants and fast food. Housekeeping was top-notch, and the front desk was kind and on top of things. Great job, Tiffini, Dan, Ryan, Jose, Tony, and LeAnn. The pool stays open until 10, the breakfast bar is bomb, and you get cookies and water on arrival. I was surprised by the value for the price. Highly recommend it over the other hotels. Good job, Holiday Inn!

The pool was warm and shallow, great for kids, and the staff were so friendly to my family whenever we crossed paths. My only issue was the dirty carpet. I might not have noticed it on my own, but I have a crawling baby, and her hands, knees, and feet got dirty as she moved around. It could use a deep clean. Otherwise, no complaints, and I'd stay here again.
