Quality Inn Meadowlands

The location made getting to and from New York really easy, and the staff were polite. But we asked for towels and never got them during our two-night stay. The toilet handle in our bathroom was broken, and maintenance never tried to fix it or apologized. I’d skip breakfast and eat somewhere else. For the price, I can’t complain too much, but I’d spend a little more for somewhere nicer. If you just need a cheap place to sleep, this works.

It’s reasonably affordable and very close to the city, and the hotel was quiet with helpful staff. The rooms and bathrooms are really small, though. The pool and the whole outdoor patio close at 8 and don’t open again until 10 am, so guests have no other outdoor area. Breakfast was okay, and the rooms and lobby were fairly clean.

Hurricane 🌀 Ida hit while my father was staying here, and high winds 🌬️ flooded half of the hotel’s first floor. Even with that going on, the place was cleaner than I expected. The rooms were nice, with two beds 🛏️🛏️, a TV 📺, two dressers, a full bathroom 🪥, and a small table with two chairs. There’s an in-ground pool with plenty of seating, and Harold's restaurant is on site.

The front desk staff were very nice, and the pool is decent. We were put in a non-smoking room, but it still smelled strongly of smoke. They moved us to another non-smoking room where the smell was fainter, but still there. I didn’t realize this was a smoking hotel. If smoke bothers you, this isn’t the place for you. Everything smells like it.
