Best Western Alderwood

The breakfast was one of the best continental spreads I’ve had: plenty of choices, a warm dining room and attentive staff who cleared finished plates. The building was in excellent shape, and the rooms were clean and updated, though the elevator felt slow and shaky. There’s an indoor pool, hot tub, gym and the usual Best Western amenities. The location is handy, just off I-5 and a quick drive from the port in Edmonds. For lodging value in Snohomish County, it’d be hard to beat. I’ll stay again when I’m back.

While I was recovering from surgery, the overnight manager, Keisha Naval, took especially good care of us. She upgraded our room, brought me extra pillows, and even replaced the batteries in the dead remote. She kept smiling and checked with my wife about how I was doing after surgery. The room was clean and had the standard microwave, fridge and coffee pot. I really appreciated Ms. Naval’s kindness and hospitality.

Bryan and Desiree were a big help, as was the woman wearing the sea Hawks during the playoffs. Bryan went out of his way to arrange a larger space for my family’s visit. The neighborhood was quiet and nice. I’d recommend it.

After our 13-hour drive from north CA, Elijah was ready to check us in even though we arrived late. I’d accidentally booked just one night when I needed two, and since I wasn’t a rewards member yet, the extra night would have cost more than I wanted. They explained the benefits, signed me up quickly, and got us a better price for night two. We had a trailer while helping a friend move, and parking was easy. In the busy season, whenever that is in WA, I’d call ahead to ask about large trucks or trailers. The room was clean and stocked, and the bed was comfortable. One small annoyance: the curved shower curtain left a gap by the tub, so more water got on the floor than I liked. Breakfast was a hit with us and our friends in a separate room. The waffle maker was fun and easy, though the syrup dispenser was slow. There were lots of drink choices, including juice, coffee, hot water and oatmilk, which made me happy as someone with lactose intolerance. The breakfast staff member was cheerful and polite, checked that I found everything, and kept dishes and silverware available and the seating area clean. On the first morning my husband was still exhausted, and I worried he’d miss breakfast, so the staff member, whose name I’m sorry I can’t remember, offered me a tray to take hot food to him. That made the morning easier, thank you! The next night I asked the front desk for help with a problem in my rewards account. The staff member connected me with customer service so I could work out what wasn’t working and book my next hotel at the member rate. It turned out to be a server issue with the password reset emails. She couldn’t fix that herself, but I wouldn’t have known what to ask about without her help. I was very pleased with the stay, and would probably choose Alderwood again if I’m back in the area.
