Residence Inn by Marriott Seattle North-Lynnwood Everett

The staff seemed really nice, especially since everyone came across as kind and accommodating. Still, I couldn't relax in the ground-level room as a solo woman traveling in a busy area, because the bedroom window was completely unlocked when I checked in. There was also a faint cigarette smell, ants in the bathrooms, carpet stains, and what might have been smoke stains on the bedroom walls. I paid $180 total, which felt expensive for the room's condition, so I drove home instead of staying. It wasn't very clean. Having cleaned hotel rooms myself, I suspect the cleaners may not have enough time to get to the details, rather than it being their fault.

The condos are cozy, quiet, and private, and having easy free parking right outside was a big plus. I spent nearly two months here and was very happy with the service. It's a fantastic neighborhood, with all the best local restaurants close by.

I expected a much cleaner room, even allowing for the wear and tear of an extended-stay hotel. Hair and crumbs were in all the drawers, toothpaste was still on the upstairs sink counter, and I found hair in the shower and on the curtain. The fridge smelled like rotting cheese. There were stains on the carpet and walls, mismatched warm and cool light bulbs, and holes in the curtains that looked like a cat had clawed them. The room did not look newly remodeled as claimed on the Marriott website. Outside, a plastic bottle filled with cigarette butts and ash was on the stairs up to my room throughout my entire stay. I would have moved to another hotel right away if I could have.

The room was clean and spacious, and housekeeping came every day. Everyone was friendly, including the really nice man at the front desk. This is where I'll stay, and where I'll put my employees when we're in town.
