Lilac Tree Suites

We liked the suite layout and the balcony looking out over the main street. Lilac Tree has a great spot in the downtown area. It was our first time staying there. The only small issue was the lack of towel racks, and there wasn’t a table, shelf, or chair for setting things down in the toilet and shower room.

We especially liked sitting on the balcony and watching everything go by, a perfect spot for us old folks. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the room was nicely arranged, and the mattress was so comfortable. We'd happily recommend staying here.

We booked the Island View One King Bed + Pullout Sofa at the Lilac Tree, and having the two rooms worked perfectly for our family. It’s right downtown, which was really convenient, but our room stayed quiet. We had a great stay on Mackinac Island and would come back.

The housekeeping team is second to none. Grace remembers us every year and greets us with a smile and a hug. We also look forward to the little evening treat, when they stop by between 7 and 8 with Oreos, milk, and chocolate. It means a lot to us. Archie (Go Blue) and Lewis have been wonderful doc porters, always smiling and handling our bags as if they were their own. My sister Barbara Hill has been coming to the Lilac Tree for 20 years. My wife Karen, Barbs son Doug, and his wife Kristina have joined her for the past six. We used to come for a week in June and another in September, though in the last couple of years it’s only been September. We’ve always tried to get rooms 304 & 306. Jennifer did her best to make that happen when she was there, and we got them. Lord willing, we’ll see you in September 2026.
