The whole trip felt like a family vacation, with a cute little town, plenty of history, and beach access. We loved the pool and hot tub, which were warm, fun, and open until midnight, and the breakfast had a really good selection and was nicely presented. The rooms and bathroom amenities were good too, and the staff were great. Emil G., the manager, was super helpful, as were the women at the front desk. We didn't want to leave. We go to the UP a few times a year, and this was our first stay near the bridge. From now on, this hotel will be part of every trip. Highly recommend, five thumbs up for the value and amenities.

It may not be a five-star hotel, but the people were so kind, friendly, courteous, and professional that I couldn't rate it lower. They earned the five stars. I'd love to stay in summer, but it's always full, so maybe try the fall at the end of the season like we did. We had a fantastic stay. Thank you.

The $200 a night price was the worst part. This dump wasn't worth $100. Check elsewhere for lodging. Before we even got to the room, another guest had just checked in and returned to complain that her room was dirty and smelled. She said she wouldn't stay regardless of what the front desk offered, and left without a refund. Our room was very dark until we switched on lights, and the fixtures all looked like they were from the 1970s. People rating this hotel above two stars need to get out more. Maybe they'd have higher standards.

The room had plenty of space, pretty furniture, and a balcony, and the staff made us feel welcome. I also liked the pool and the hot tub, which was bigger than ones I've seen at other hotels. Breakfast was fine and included.

The rooms could use updating, and ours had dirty carpet. The bathroom was tiny, with the sink oddly far back from the counter's edge. Still, I like that the rooms open to the outside. The location is excellent: the beach is wonderful, some ground-floor rooms open straight onto it, the Mackinac Bridge is right there, and Sheplers ferry is next door. We also had a great sunrise from the balcony.
