Crown Choice Inn & Suites Lakeview & Waterpark

We ended up using the water park, but even the bottoms of the slides looked gross, and the air felt poorly ventilated. The place didn’t seem well kept, so make your own call about staying. The first room, on the fourth floor, was spacious, but the mold smell hurt my lungs as soon as we walked in. There was mold on the window sills and in the AC, and the windows were covered in condensation because the room was above the pool. The stairwell smelled moldy too, so there was no getting away from it. The front desk lady moved us to the third floor. That room smelled better, but all the towels smelled of mildew. We didn’t want to move our stuff again, so we stayed.

Our son could have been seriously hurt if we hadn’t been standing right there. The hotel’s safety negligence nearly harmed our child, but they quickly called us liars and threatened to sue us. The US Consumers Product Safety Commission created a law to help prevent injuries and deaths from furniture tipping over. How are we still dealing with this in 2026? Do not stay here.

I’ve stayed here many times, and the place has kept sliding downhill. We arrived to find the office closed, with a note sending us across the street to check in at a “partner hotel.” It was off season and I figured they were short staffed, so we went along with it. After checking in, we dropped our bags in the room without looking around and took the kids to the water park after several hours on the road. The water park was okay, though many parts of the kids’ area were broken or not working. There was so much sand and dirt at the bottom of the hot tub that it felt like a beach. Later, when we came back to change for dinner, we saw how dirty the room was: filthy floors, potato chips, a pile of hair in the bathroom, an empty plastic silverware box on the counter, and sticky, dirty nightstands. The smoke alarm was missing, with only its wiring and base left on the ceiling. We were hungry and didn’t want to deal with it right then, so we went to eat. The bedding looked clean when we got back late, and we just wanted to sleep. Around 11 pm, people ran and stomped in the hallway above us for almost an hour. The hotel office was closed, and nobody answered at the hotel across the street where we checked in. When someone finally answered, they put me on hold and never came back, so I hung up after about five minutes. We left as soon as we could the next morning. Another guest nearby told me their room was dirty and needed repairs too. With the state of our room, the missing alarm, and the noise, I won’t return and can’t recommend this place.

The room was okay, but there were a lot of spiders in the game room, and tons in the old breakfast room on the third floor. The game room also didn’t have many games. At the water park, the pools didn’t look very clean, and the spray ground was freezing, like getting hosed down. Both pools were too cold for my three-year-old and my 15- and 16-year-old kids, while the hot tub was too hot for the baby.
