Madill Inn

For the price, this place is seriously a steal. The rooms are medium sized and feel homey, and the beds are comfy. We found our room clean, with no bugs or weirdos roaming around. The setup is lovely and the place is so cute. The other guests we met were nice and happy to chat. The owners were sweet and even gave us a small discount after a different motel, “madill budget inn,” stole from us and tried to take $400 from me. That last place was gross and unsanitary. We’re really happy here. This place gets all stars 🫶🏼🫶🏼

We were in room 123. The shower ceiling in the bathroom was covered in mold, and the room smelled musty when we moved in. It got worse before we left, and we all got sick from the mold. When we mentioned it, they acted like they couldn’t understand. They charged us $700 for eight days, while other places charge $440 a week. That’s an outrageous amount. The pictures aren’t of the actual motel, and the rooms are worse than they show.

We stayed the night of November 18, 2022, and it was a terrible motel experience. The place was filthy when we walked in, and within ten minutes a 2 1/2 inch cockroach was climbing up the bathroom door. There was no coffee maker, and the room looked like it should be condemned. The TV was the only decent thing, though its guide button didn’t work. Anyone rating this above a 1 must be living very badly.

The couple who own the place are nice, but the accommodation feels too expensive for what you get. It’s old and needs a lot of work, and there’s no refund policy. The pet fee is a bit much. I’ve found places with no charge and a cutoff after two days at $50. I have a well-behaved dog and clean up after her, so I think a case-by-case policy allowing exceptions might be worth considering.
