Hillside Inn

The balcony views were lovely, and the room was clean. Front desk staff were welcoming and attentive, too. It’s in a great location, less than a five-minute drive to several cute restaurants and shops. I had a pleasant stay and will come back next time I’m in Madison.

The woman who checked us in yesterday was so sweet and friendly, smiling and chatting the whole time. I didn’t catch her name at first, but I was told it’s Kimberly. Her husband is retired from the Army. I really appreciated her customer service, especially since my dad is also a retired Army veteran. The place smells so good as soon as you walk in.

Our card was charged multiple times, beyond the amount for his stay. I made the reservation, and all the information was mine with his name on it, so I didn’t need to be the person staying there to know what was charged. I already had the papers they printed in my email before Nikki blocked it. When I asked about the repeated charges, she got an attitude, cussed me out, and blocked my email so I couldn’t send proof. The manager was horrid, and Nikki was rude, unhelpful, and unprofessional. She also hung up on me repeatedly, so I kept calling. That’s no way to run a business. Lies, lies, and more lies. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. It deserves negative ten stars.

We always book a jacuzzi room here, and it’s a good deal for the price. It’s an older hotel, but it’s consistently clean and affordable. The balcony looks out over downtown Madison and the river, a breathtaking and relaxing view. This is our go-to hotel for date nights in Southern Indiana.
