Hilton Madison Monona Terrace

My daughter and I came for one night to see a concert at the Majestic Theater, just a few minutes' walk away. Restaurants, a few bars, and the waterfront were close too, in a lovely neighborhood that's easy to get around on foot. The view was great, and the hotel's cozy atmosphere, even in the lobby, was lovely. Service was excellent, and our room was clean and comfortable. The tiny, dated pool and hot tub are the only reason I didn't give it five stars. We'll definitely come back next time we're in town! 😊

I travel to Madison for work and have stayed here three times. The first room was a nice little suite overlooking the lake. The next time, my king room had some questionable splatter marks on the headboard, so I wouldn't choose that room again. Since my third stay was already booked through work, I went back and got a different room with two queen beds overlooking the capitol building. The onsite garage has high ceilings, I believe 6'11", so bigger vehicles fit easily. The restaurant service is slow, though, and I ended up ordering to-go or using DoorDash or Uber Eats. It's not a bad hotel, and I'd probably stay again, just not in that king room. 😆

I liked the hotel: it was clean, the room was comfortable, and digital check-in and checkout meant no waiting at the desk. The onsite parking structure was stressful with my F150, though. It's a dead-end ramp, and the spots are straight 90-degree spaces instead of angled. I had to inch back and forth for about 10 minutes to get into one. If all spots are taken by the time you reach the bottom, getting out sounds like trouble too. Security would probably enjoy the footage. I'd love it if you arranged parking at the public structure across the street or wherever the nearest one is for full-size vehicles. Even better, let us pay through the hotel to park in the open-air lot at the terrace, since there's already a skywalk to the hotel. I love the place, but parking isn't good for larger vehicles.

The staff were friendly and ready to help with anything I needed, and I enjoyed the view of the Capital from my room. The room itself was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The location is great, just a couple blocks from the Capital Building and close to several places to eat.
