Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Madison West - Middleton by IHG

The slide and toddler play area were fun for the kids, and having a room off the pool was convenient. The room was nice and clean, and the location was nice too. But the hallways and pool area were so cold. I saw lots of people in sweatshirts and families taking young kids into the hot tub to warm up. There were lifeguards or pool attendants on duty, but most were on their phones or had their kids with them, and didn't seem to be paying attention at all. The carpet outside our room was stained and pretty gross, and the garbage cans out there weren't emptied during our two days. For the money it was a decent stay, but the place needs some refurbishing and TLC.

We've stayed here twice for the pseudo-water park, which is a nice option when our travels take us to Madison. We accepted the drive to other things in order to use it. The rooms are in good shape and a good value, and there's a good bar in the lobby. Breakfast was totally fine, though the restaurant's otherwise generic Italian food is bland. The pool is fine too, but lifeguarding is in name only. It feels like a free-for-all. Watch your kids, because nobody else is, and don't be another adult glued to your phone.

My family and I had a great one-night visit and would happily return. The room was super clean and comfortable, the decor felt stylish and inviting, and we enjoyed relaxing by the fireplace. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Fresh water and coffee were available in the lobby all day, and we also used the onsite gym. We had a blast at Crawdaddy Cove Indoor Water Park. Breakfast was included, delicious, and had good variety and quality. The kitchen staff kept everything fresh and replenished. We were also glad to find prompt table service: once we left our plates, staff cleared them quickly so tables were ready for the next guests.

The rooms were clean, spacious, and quiet, the beds were comfy, and it was easy to adjust the temperature quickly. I booked two rooms, and the hotel made sure they were adjoining, which I really appreciated and thought was above and beyond. The employees were great and as accommodating as possible. Breakfast was excellent. I just wish the pool area had longer hours.
