Executive Inn and Suites

The shuttle and the location close to TRF were about the only good parts. The room seemed okay at first, but the longer we stayed, the worse it got, with roaches and other bugs showing up. Housekeeping just took out the trash and rehung our dirty towels. I wasn’t impressed and won’t stay again.

After our five-hour drive, we found yellow stains on the sheets on both beds. The bathroom sink was broken, and its handle fell right off when we tried to use it. When I called the office for a refund, the woman said it wasn’t her problem and they wouldn’t refund us. Don’t waste your money on a dirty room and bad service.

There were some good basics: a large fridge with a freezer, clean fresh-smelling sheets, clean towels, plenty of parking, and restaurants like KFC and Taco Bell within walking distance. But I’ve stayed here three or four nights a year for five years, and the service seems to get worse each time. Last year’s desk clerk was rude and unhelpful, and I didn’t think it could get worse. The room has been somewhat remodeled, including a new tub surround since last year, but the tub and drain are still old, with no drain plug. The bathroom had recently been cleaned. My room was 88°F when I arrived, and the A/C couldn’t get it below 78°F by 11 p.m. It was so loud I couldn’t hear the TV, though the TV wasn’t usable anyway because the hotel had cancelled its Dish subscription. A gap of over an inch under the door let in plenty of mosquitoes and other bugs. The shades didn’t keep out sunlight or even the exterior walkway lights. The small couch table had a broken leg and wasn’t very usable.

We checked the bed at first and didn’t see anything, but as we were about to leave with our stuff, we spotted a bed bug crawling on it. There were also stains on the mattresses and sheets. The office was very kind and offered us another room, but we took the refund instead. I hadn’t seen reviews about bed bugs when booking, though I know they can come from anyone. Be careful and always check.
