Super 8 Merrillville/Gary Area

I had to get clean sheets from the staff, clean the room myself, and bring in some of my own bedding. When I checked in on 11/3/25, the reviews looked mixed but okay. I always check the bed, and this time there were crumbs near the foot, as if the sheets had been smoothed and the bed remade without changing them. I asked the front desk for help. They offered another room and came to inspect it with me, but when I pulled the bedding back and found a huge dark stain on the sheets, the manager got mad at me for doing that. He offered a partial refund because I had booked online, even though he'd charged my card the full amount. A few days later, the card was charged for the full amount plus the security deposit. When I called, the manager was rude and hostile. If they'd processed the card properly the first time, I wouldn't have had to wait for a refund. They should ask their merchant services company how to handle card payments correctly. I filed a report with the appropriate Health Department and Wyndham. I have video and photos, but my phone broke before I could post this review, so I'll have to upload them later. Don't stay here. It's gross. They may sound nice, but I doubt they'll change how they do things.
