Cotilia made my stay memorable and comfortable, and her service is a real credit to Marriott. She welcomed me warmly at the front desk, was professional and upbeat, and handled check-in smoothly. She paid attention to the details, made sure I had what I needed, and made me feel valued. I had asked to cancel and check into another hotel, but she even persuaded me to stay. Cotilia gave me one of the best hotel experiences I've had. I sincerely hope Marriott recognizes what an outstanding front desk agent she is.
We left our deluxe room for an event after checking in on Saturday, and when we returned after midnight, our belongings had been removed and moved to a smaller room on a different floor. Nobody had contacted me or explained the change. Now my silver chain and bracelet are missing, and the hotel says it doesn't know where they are. When I went back yesterday, staff yelled and swore at me, then denied everything. They went into our room and moved our things without permission. I can't trust the employees, and this was the worst hotel stay I've ever had. I'll never stay at this location again.
After actually spending time in the room, I had to update my first-impressions review, and not for the better. The mattress was completely worn out, the worst I've ever slept on. The bathroom was tiny with almost no counter space, and everything felt old and neglected. The TV and furniture looked at least 15 years old. The whole property feels run down and poorly maintained, and the hotel seems 20 or more years out of date. I'm surprised it can carry a Marriott brand name, even at the lower tier. I won't stay here again.
The only reason this gets two stars is that we enjoyed breakfast. I booked through Expedia, and the stay was marked by poor service, slow responses, and a safety concern. When I arrived Thursday 5/28/2026, I asked whether I could upgrade. The hotel said it was oversold, so there were no upgrades, and I asked them to let me know if a cancellation opened one up. On Friday 5/29/2026, my cousin and I left around 12:30 PM and requested housekeeping. Our room still hadn't been cleaned when we returned around 10:00 PM, so I reported it at the front desk and asked for fresh towels. Another guest there was complaining that her room wasn't ready because housekeeping hadn't cleaned it, and she was upgraded to a suite. I explained that I'd had a housekeeping issue too, had been told the hotel was full, and had asked to be notified about an upgrade. The employee said there must have been a cancellation but didn't explain why nobody had contacted me. On my way back to our room, the same guest who got the suite upgrade tried to open our door with her key. It alarmed me and raised serious concerns about privacy, room assignments, and guest safety. As an African American guest, I left feeling troubled by what seemed to be different treatment. The guest upgraded and the front desk employee helping her were both Caucasian. I can't know why these decisions were made, but after raising a similar housekeeping concern and asking in advance to hear about any upgrade, the circumstances gave me the impression of unequal treatment. As a loyal guest, I felt overlooked and undervalued. On Saturday 5/30/2026, we returned around 11:00 PM. Shortly after midnight, a major disturbance in the next room became so disruptive that we called the front desk, and police were eventually called. It upset us, and my son felt frightened and unsafe. I asked the responding officers to personally reassure him that he was safe and things were under control. We couldn't rest for the rest of the night. On Sunday 5/31/2026, the toilet clogged. We reported it promptly, but it took about an hour for someone to respond and fix it. By then, we were getting ready to leave. At checkout, I asked to speak with a manager about the disturbance and our overall stay. Lxxxa at the front desk was rude and dismissive, which added to my frustration. I was told a manager would contact me, but no one has. That has made me even more disappointed and reinforced my feeling that my concerns weren't taken seriously.
I should've trusted my first instinct and found another hotel. I booked through the Bonvoy app, arrived at 10:00 PM, and stayed only because it was late and I had to be up at 6:00 AM. The place was very old, and I don't think anything inside had been updated since it was built. The bed was so awful that around 2:00 AM I gave up, packed my things, and checked out.
