Homewood Suites by Hilton Detroit-Troy

The staff were so friendly and clearly wanted guests to feel welcome. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they'd upgraded me automatically when their two bedroom suite was still unbooked for my three day weekend. I didn't realize until I walked in. It was a huge suite, almost too much room for me: one bedroom had two queens and its own bathroom, the other had a king and another bathroom, and the main area had a kitchen and pullout couch where I could hang out. What a surprise, and it made for a great trip. Thank you, Christian and Team.

Joseph was professional and made sure everything was up to our expectations. We were greeted promptly, checked in quickly, and given our goodies as a valuable Honor Hilton. The gym was perfect for our workout, which matters to us when choosing hotels. We had a great bed and a lovely, decent hotel with good service, close to plenty of amenities. If you want restaurants and some casual shopping nearby, it's a nice spot.

The first part of our stay had a few bumps, but Delisha and the staff member who cleaned our new room took care of things the next morning. Delisha quickly understood what had happened and went out of her way to fix it. Her customer service was outstanding.

The breakfast team was lovely, with a good range of food and drinks, and most staff were friendly and helpful. Dino and Joe were especially nice, as were housekeeping staff, who came by daily. Other long-term guests were pleasant and shared useful advice. There’s a pool and gym available during the day, laundry facilities, and a Wednesday dinner from 5 to 6 pm. The place was quiet, too. My main frustration was the Wi-Fi, which wasn’t reliable for online use, and the door keys would stop working at random, meaning trips to the front desk. I stayed for a while because my home insurance recommended it. One desk supervisor wasn’t great, though the others were.
