Magnolia Inn And Suites

We were in town for a wedding and had a nice weekend. The rate for the room ended up fairly cheaper than we first expected, and we got a warm welcome even though we arrived after dark. The pool was refreshing, and each time we came back the room had been cleaned and fresh towels were there. The lighting in the rooms could be better. Breakfast could use more options, too. It was just two cereals, waffles, and bananas. I'd be happy to book here again.

The free shuttle to RenFest was a real highlight, but I was also glad to find this motel was a nice place to stay. The family managing it, and maybe owning it too, though I didn't ask, were sweet, helpful, and accommodating. It's very clean and well kept. It isn't especially flashy or modern, but they clearly put effort into maintaining it.

It's a clean, comfortable little hotel with friendly staff, and the rooms have a fridge and microwave. The location is central, with plenty of things within walking distance. There's also a jacuzzi room, though it gets booked quickly. Weekend rates rise during faire, which is understandable. Breakfast is waffles, fruit, cereal, and yogurt, but Magnolia Diner is only a two-minute walk away. We were fine with the no-smoking rooms and no animals policy. I'd stay again next time I'm in town.

The sheets were polyester, and I haven't stayed anywhere else that used them. We travel a lot for business and pleasure, here and abroad, and cotton is much more comfortable for sleeping. The bed and sheets smelled like they hadn't been cleaned, so I had to buy Lysol and spray everything. There was also an annoying mold smell, and we never felt comfortable enough to relax. It gave the impression that only the bare minimum was being maintained. A few upgrades would make a big difference.
