Holiday Inn Express & Suites Wichita Northwest, an IHG Hotel

The staff were friendly and helpful, and housekeeping did a great job during my week-long stay, checking the room every day. I had to leave before 6:30 am, so I didn’t try breakfast. The motel is right off Maize Road, with plenty of food choices nearby, from Longhorns, Firehouse Subs, and pizza to Chinese. Sam’s, Walmart, and even Menards are close too. Menards is a pretty cool store.

The pool was so heavily chlorinated that my daughter’s skin and mine were bright red afterward. Inside the suite, I found dried poop smeared on the wall, and my husband spotted mold growing on the ceiling. We arrived late at night and had booked a king suite with a pull-out couch for our little ones. The online photos made the couch look like it had a real mattress, but it was no thicker than a mattress topper. This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Save your money and go to Motel 6 instead, it’d be better.

The suite had lovely decor, high-end finishes, and luxurious bedding. Staff were welcoming, attentive, and very professional. It was truly one of the best hotel stays I’ve had, a real mix of elegance and comfort.

Breakfast was awful, even what was left was cold. The muffins were dry and the biscuits were hard as hockey pucks. Outside and inside, the trash had been overflowing for days. The hotel is run down, and they didn’t seem to care about guests or the property. My room smelled, there was someone else’s hair on the clean sheets, and the toilet wouldn’t flush properly. The front desk insisted it worked and that there was no smell, but I had to flush five times just to get pee down. They said they could move me in two days when the hotel wasn’t full, but I was checking out the next day. Ridiculous. I’ll never stay here again. I wish I could’ve gotten a refund or moved to another hotel.
