Countryside Inn

I paid Booking.com when I reserved the room, then the motel charged me again. So I was charged twice for a roach infested stay, and now I'm out the money while neither side wants to take responsibility for the mistake. I'd avoid this motel and Booking.com.

The room had a strong chemical odor that left both of us feeling kind of nauseous. After we checked out, we had to wash everything because the smell had gotten into it all. The room was picked up, but it wasn't especially clean. The people there were friendly, at least.

The Mexican food restaurant had really good food and service. At the motel, I found the room clean and newly remodeled, and there was plenty of space to park a boat with outlets for charging its batteries. After reading the reviews, I expected much worse and was pleasantly surprised. Maybe things were rough there before, but they've done a good job, and I'd stay again and recommend it. I'm not sure what led to all the bad reviews.

The beds are huge and really comfortable, and the rooms are always clean. For 60$ per person, I think it's a great deal. The decor feels a little old fashioned, but there's a TV, microwave, and mini fridge in each room, plus shampoo, bars of soap, lotion, and instant coffee. We did get a room where someone had smoked, so we turned on the AC and let the front desk know. The front desk was super helpful too. My husband and I came back from seeing an airshow to find ourselves locked out, and he unlocked the room without a complaint.
