Howard Johnson by Wyndham Hattiesburg

The staff sounded like good people, and the location seemed pretty safe. The rooms were great, and I enjoyed both the room and the service, aside from a little mold starting at the bottom of the shower curtain. We had an extra authorization charge, but they cleared it up for us pretty quickly. One problem: the fridge made constant tapping noises at night. I'd advise getting it fixed.

I've stayed here three times and love it. The rooms are clean and smell fresh, the beds are so comfortable, and they give you lots of pillows. It's very quiet, the price is affordable, and the guy at the front desk is my new friend. I'll stay here whenever I need a room or just want some me time. Not one complaint!

We were impressed with our stay, especially for the price. We arrived after 3 in the morning, and they let us check out at 1 so we could sleep before getting back on the road. Staff were helpful and even gave us dish soap to wash our bottles. The rooms were clean too. I'd seen the one-star rating and was hesitant, but if I'm in the area again, I'd definitely come back. Best stay for the price, that's for sure!

The rate was good for one night, but I wouldn't recommend staying for longer. Other than the beds being made, the room didn't look cleaned after the previous guests. There was trash on the floor, gum stuck to the nightstand, a nasty sink, no tissues in the holder, and just one bath towel. The beds were supposed to be queens, but looked barely full size. When I questioned it, staff said “the entire hotel is that way,” so beware if you book a king bed. The fridge and freezer couldn't be used because the freezer compartment was completely covered in ice. I reported it to the front desk, but nothing was done.
