Comfort Inn University Hattiesburg

The room was spotless, the service was great, and the front desk women were professional, courteous, and helpful in every way. I've stayed in lots of hotels, and this was easily the best one in town. I really enjoyed my stay. I'd give it 100 stars.

The clean linens and towels were the one bright spot on both visits. This was my second stay within six months, and the rooms are in disrepair and need a deep clean. At night they can look clean, but daylight through the curtains showed crumbs and dirt everywhere. Both times, the bathroom floors were sticky and the chairs at the tables were stained and filthy. The shower head and both sink and shower faucets were broken, and the shower shampoo bottle was completely empty.

We ended up sleeping on top of the covers after checking the bed for bedbugs. It seemed okay, but the rest of the place made us wary, so we skipped breakfast too. The whole building smelled musty. I'd booked by phone through a booking service and asked for a clean hotel; they said its cleanliness rating was 3.8 out of 5. That wasn't our experience. The hall floors had spills and dirt, and our bathroom counters had stuff on them with some kind of spill down the wall. The hair dryer looked like it was missing a part, chairs and lampshades were stained, the TV was messed up, and the remote was sticky. We would've gone elsewhere, but our other choices were booked. Keep driving and find somewhere else.

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who looks like me. The manager was extremely rude. She even turned off the lights while my daughter and I were eating breakfast in the lobby.
