Innsbruck Lodge

A lovely place to rest your tired feet and spend the night. The people running it are kind and made it feel like home. From the balcony, the rooms have beautiful views, and the nearby village has great shops and ski supplies. The natural surroundings were a breath of fresh air for someone from the city. There’s a small gas stove, fridge, and a few cooking tools, plus a bathroom window with a tint that lets in fresh air. Loved it.

Room 10 had a kitchenette, a spacious layout, and a comfortable king bed. The location is close to downtown, and the shower was tiny but usable. It’s an older property that could use updates, and the split-level building means there are steps everywhere. You can hear people walking upstairs in your room, even when they’re just moving around normally. For the price and location, that’s what you get.

The owner was very rude, and the experience was just terrible. Parking was poorly planned, with too few spots in front of the hotel, so she made us move the car repeatedly until it was close enough to the cars already parked there. The room was so small we couldn’t fully open our suitcase. The walls were paper thin, so we could hear the neighbors talking and every step upstairs. There was no heater while it was snowing outside, and our room was very cold. The hot water also swung suddenly between too hot and too cold during a bath.

My hiking trip was cancelled because of the National Forrest closures, and the staff worked with me to upgrade the room so two more people could fit. The lodge is cute, everyone was very friendly, and the rooms were clean and sweetly decorated. It felt like home, and I’ll use them again.
