A pretty standard lodge with rentals, lockers, restrooms, ticketing, ski school, and a Mammoth Mountain store. Upstairs, there’s a good spot to sit with lunch if you buy or bring it, plus a nice bar for adult refreshments. A handy place to warm up and take a break.
The people here make the place feel like a community. Staff across the mountain are kind and helpful, and even when lift lines stretch during busy periods, the operators stay upbeat and keep things moving as best they can. Shout-out to the bartenders at Canyon Lodge and The Mill, too. They’re friendly, quick, and make it a welcoming place to unwind after skiing. I’ve been coming to Mammoth for years, and it keeps delivering. My latest trip was on New Year’s Day, and it was fantastic, like the other visits. The terrain and snow are great, and with staff like this, I’ll be back. It’s a good place for first-timers and regulars alike.
Kevin in parking operations helped make my milestone birthday start out wonderfully. I was at Mammoth Mountain with 10 close friends and ran into a small parking problem, so I asked one of the nearby officers for help. Sergio was courteous and called over Kevin, the assistant manager. Kevin was welcoming and friendly, helped the group find parking, and sorted things out with kindness and professionalism. We had a great day at the resort. I can only imagine how much complaining and verbal abuse the staff hear every day. Stay warm and sane, guys, and keep up the good work. See you next week. This is a great lodge if you bring the right attitude and some patience.
Love this spot. It’s centrally located, and there are plenty of chairs to get you around the mountain. The bar is a great place to sit indoors or outside, and this is where the après happens when they have it. Staff are always friendly, and the restrooms are clean and large. Probably one of Mammoth’s best lodges.
What began as Warming Hut Two, a basic place for skiers to duck in, warm up, and head back out, has grown into a full-service base lodge. Canyon Lodge now has plenty of dining, comfortable and spacious indoor areas, modern amenities, and convenient access to a wide range of terrain. It works as a real mountain hub, with good staffing and a layout that fits the flow of skiers. The change reflects Mammoth Mountain’s growth and investment in its infrastructure and guest experience, while keeping the relaxed, authentic feel of the resort.
