Number 81 was very comfortable, with a nice couch, recliner, and bed. The bathroom was standard, nothing fancy. The complex has two very nice Jacuzzis, plus a clean, well-maintained sauna and a rec room with a pool table. It’s an adequate place to stay near Canyon Lodge. St Anton is the closest condo complex to Canyon Lodge, but unlike some other local places, there doesn’t seem to be a way through the woods, so you have to walk up the street. It’s not too far, though it’s much farther than from Mammoth Mountain Inn or Juniper Springs Lodge. These are standard Mammoth condos from the 60s, with wall heaters and gas fireplaces. The heaters turn on and off all night, so if you’re a light sleeper, I’d avoid using the bedroom one. The old wall outlets didn’t hold our plugs well, and our loose door handle fell off whenever we opened the door. When we arrived, the dishwasher was full of dirty dishes, which we had to wash and put away. The TV has Netflix and Amazon but no local channels. Wi-Fi was very fast, around 150 to 200 MB per second, though it would drop to zero intermittently. Parking clearance is 6‘8“, which worked for our SUV with ski rack but might be an issue for a taller vehicle. You have to carry your things up a flight of stairs to reach the unit. Ours had no ski storage, so we left the skis on the car.

Unit #44 was comfortable and nice, but lacked basics. There was no hand soap, dishwasher pods, foil, or plastic wrap. We had to get toilet paper, dish soap, paper towels, and trash bags from the main office. Cooking made the place so smoky that we thought the fire alarm might go off, and had to open both the sliding door and the front door. It really needs a better exhaust fan. The master bed was too hard, and there was no fitted sheet. The sheet provided kept slipping off, making it hard to sleep through the night. The coffee maker worked, but a Keurig would’ve been more convenient. I was a little disappointed, though I’d stay again if these problems were fixed.

Mary at the office was the reason we’d come back and leave this review. Please make sure to verify reservations, since their computer seems to have some glitches. Mary worked hard to make sure we were taken care of, and she was professional and courteous the whole time. Thank You Mary

The rooms and furniture are new, and it looks like an apartment. The view is beautiful, and it comfortably sleeps at least 8. If I were coming back, I’d stay here. There’s no snow right now for skiing or boarding, but if there were, it’d be steps away.

The location is great, close to Canyon Lodge, and the service and WiFi were good too. But the mildew smell in the hall of building C was awful. It was so strong I had to hold my breath or hurry to the garage to avoid breathing it in.
