Super 8 by Wyndham Manassas

The location is just five minutes from downtown restaurants and the bar crawl, and the hospitality was great. Breakfast was only a juice bar, so bring your own toiletries and, of course, wear house shoes. You never know what you'll get when traveling, but I appreciated how accommodating Super 8 was on such short notice. As a Wyndham member, I always like having my presence acknowledged.

After more than 12 hours on the road, we were exhausted when checking in and were charged an extra $100. We were told breakfast was included, and I think tired guests may trust that kind of information. But there was no breakfast at all. Nothing. The hotel advertises a photo calling the breakfast “superstar,” which is completely misleading. When I asked about it at 9:00 AM, they said breakfast was already over. There was only one towel in the room for me, my daughter, and my husband, which is unacceptable. I'm leaving this complaint as a warning to future guests: read the reviews carefully before booking. Unfortunately, I don't recommend this hotel.

I wanted to see the room before booking, as I normally do and have never been refused before. The person at the front desk, who seemed lazy and useless, denied me that courtesy.

I'm staying at this Super 8 now, and the experience has been upsetting. On August 25th, the lock on Room 109's door was broken, leaving me and my kids feeling unsafe. Staff initially didn't take it seriously. When I said it felt like discrimination, their tone suddenly changed and they moved us to another room. Then on August 26th, when my fiancé asked to extend our stay, we were told no without a valid reason. After what had already happened, it felt unfair and honestly racist. No guest should have to plead for safety or feel mistreated because of who they are. Hotels should treat every paying customer fairly and with respect.
