The staff were helpful and check-in was quick. It’s a handy location for a volleyball tournament in Hartford, about 15 minutes away. The hotel itself was just okay, with construction underway and a bit of a smell, though that may have come from the work or the pool.

I used to stay here for the jacuzzi room, but even that now seems dated. This time I booked a regular room, and the heat in the first one wouldn’t turn off, so I was moved. Construction was happening in another room, and when I called to ask when it would stop, the front desk said 7 pm. The clock showed 7:45 pm. Then the door wouldn’t lock and the TV wouldn’t work. I paid $157 for this. Be careful out there.

The staff were very nice, and someone came by pretty quickly after I sent a note to the front desk. But mold in the shower can’t be fixed with Windex, and the old smoke smell was stale. I usually choose Marriott first. If you’re in this area, find another hotel.

It’s a basic hotel. The AC took a while to cool the room, but it eventually worked fine. We were there on a busy weekend, and the workers seemed stressed. The single elevator also shakes while it’s running, which was concerning.

The decor is a bit dated, but the rooms were clean and very quiet. The location seems to suit our needs, and it’s close to Highway 84.
