The Reluctant Panther Inn and Restaurant

We visited the inn and restaurant in August with our 9 month old. Everyone was welcoming and accommodating, and our room was roomy and comfortable. The restaurant meal was the best either of us has ever had. Get the short ribs. Breakfast delivered to the room was delicious too. Absolutely recommend.

The morning picnic basket is such a lovely touch, please keep doing that. Dinner was fantastic, including a really good vegan option, and you can’t beat the location. The room was way beyond what I expected, so nice. I could hear people upstairs stomping and jumping around for a while, but they eventually settled down. I’m in love with this place, it feels like a dream.

The Snowflake room was impressively spacious, including the bathroom, and the gas fireplace made it feel cozy. I’d been unsure about breakfast arriving in a basket, but it turned out to be incredible. Having it in the room in the provided robes was lovely. We stayed one night in early November. Just a heads up, the room may be tough for anyone with mobility limitations. The bed is so high you need steps to get in, and the whirlpool tub used for the shower has tall sides that were a little hard to climb in and out of.

I planned a fancy dinner as a treat for my husband, but it was just okay. My duck was supposed to be medium rare and had a little pink, but was mostly grey. Duck breast shouldn’t be grey, and it made me think the meat was old or bad. The bread was stale, and the sides seemed reheated. At these prices, I expect fresh food. We won’t be back.
