Marriott's Shadow Ridge II- The Enclaves

The pools are a big reason we keep returning to Marriott’s Shadow Ridge – The Enclaves. They stay at a comfortable temperature in the morning, midday, and evening, and are always relaxing. The grounds are beautifully maintained and the resort has great amenities. It's centrally located near restaurants, shopping centers, and attractions, so there are plenty of nearby places to explore. We often don't feel a need to leave, though, since the food onsite is excellent, with several convenient, satisfying dining options. It's a stress-free place to stay, and we'd recommend it for a Palm Desert getaway.

The carpet smelled awful, and the overall hygiene was disgusting. The balcony door had no screen, so flies and other insects rushed in whenever I opened it. When I asked for insect spray, they refused and said they could only provide a full-room pest control service. I pointed out that insects would come right back as soon as I opened the balcony door, but they told me, “Then just don’t open the balcony door.” I came on vacation and wanted to sit on the balcony and enjoy the view. That response was ridiculous. I'll never stay here again. Worst experience ever.

The rooms and location were nice, but without internet for my whole stay because of a “vendor problem,” this was worthless as a hotel, especially for business. They put me at the far end of the property, where there was close to zero cell service. Trying to reach the front desk for a shuttle felt like calling an airline's customer service.

We stayed in a small villa, and it felt roomy considering the square footage. The staff were extremely friendly, and the pools were the best part for us. On a hot summer day, all those pools are hard to beat. With so many activities, we had a great time, and I'd recommend this place for a relaxing vacation with family and friends.
