Hotel Pacific Manhattan Beach

The only good parts of our stay were the kind young woman who checked us in and the location. My husband and I stayed here in 2025, and it was easily the worst motel experience I’ve had. We’re used to motels and budget stays, but this room was nearly uninhabitable. It clearly hadn’t been cleaned. There was hair, stains, and marks all over, so I wiped everything down myself with the Lysol we’d brought. We chose not to complain then and went about our day. When we came back, the refrigerator was leaking across the floor. We asked the desk for towels to mop it up, or to move rooms. They had no towels, and the man at the desk seemed completely unconcerned. He said no towels were available. After I insisted that wasn’t acceptable, he handed us a dirty rag. I told him we needed another clean room, not an upgrade. He claimed the motel was full, which was hard to believe with the parking garage nearly empty. He eventually moved us after we pushed, but the hostility and poor service through the whole exchange were disturbing. I’d strongly advise people not to consider staying here.

The place was dusty and dirty, so I had to wipe down the bedframe, counters, and dressers myself. There were roaches, stains on the walls, dead bugs on the ceiling, no towels, and sheets that didn’t even cover the bed. It needs to be demolished, in my opinion. You’d be better off sleeping in your car. I strongly advise against booking here. We’re here with the police because the maze decided to steal my mother’s jewelry instead of turning it in. The jewelry was worth enough to count as grand theft, and we’re absolutely suing. The manager won’t talk to us or help. The housekeepers don’t speak English and are protecting one another. If I could rate it below one star, I would.

We reserved two rooms for three nights through Chase Travel. In one room, the bathroom ceiling had visible damage that looked unsafe. We asked calmly to switch rooms, without causing a disturbance, but the hotel refused. During the conversation, a staff member asked where I was from, which felt inappropriate and made things uncomfortable. After we tried several times to resolve this calmly, the hotel stopped serving us and made us leave at almost midnight on 12/27, during the holiday season. We received no refund when we had to leave. After multiple follow-ups through the booking service, we got only a partial refund. The hotel refused service without giving us a full refund. It was a very stressful experience, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

The night reception staff barely speak English, and it’s impossible to understand them when calling from the room phone. Parking also costs extra each day. There’s no bedside lamp in the room, which makes no sense. Breakfast was a disaster, and my brother and his wife weren’t given enough shampoo or conditioner. One star is the lowest I can give, though it deserves less. 👎
