Residence Inn by Marriott Manhattan Beach

The gym is small, but it’s good, and the whole hotel was clean. The breakfast staff really try to make you feel at home, and everyone was excellent. I’d easily stay here again. I only wish there were a hot tub.

The staff made the stay especially nice. Everyone was friendly, and Eileen in the breakfast area greeted us with a smile each morning. The location was convenient, and the rooms had plenty of space, including full-size fridges rather than the under-counter kind. No complaints at all.

Breakfast was the part that spoiled the stay for me. If it runs from 6 to 9, you’d better get there by 7:30, and probably earlier. For the last hour or more, food wasn’t replenished, and most days the choices were already pretty limited. The waffle machines were off or marked out of order for three days. The replacement pancakes were cold and flavorless, and the potatoes seemed undercooked and had no flavor. I’ve seen more choice at a Motel 6. I was very disappointed. Breakfast is advertised as included, but I shouldn’t have to go to a restaurant every day.

I had a really pleasant stay and would come back. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, the hotel was very clean, and the amenities were a nice extra.
