Parkwood Inn & Suites

Please don't stay here. The room was nasty, and its toilet wouldn't flush. The lobby toilet was backed up too. Even the staff bathroom had no soap or paper towels, which made me wonder if anyone was washing their hands and whether that broke health code. The front desk attendant acted as if all of this was normal and was below par.

The comfortable bed is the only reason this gets two stars instead of one. The internet was awful, the TV was smaller than the ones shown in the suite photos, and its stand had a chunk missing. There was a hole in the bathroom wall because the door stop had been installed too close to it, while the towel holder on the door stuck out farther than the stop. The sink was cracked, the bed frame squeaked, and I had to fiddle with the shower to get the pressure going. I washed clothes, then found the dryer unplugged and not working. There was no sign warning that laundry couldn't be dried. On checkout morning, even though checkout wasn't until 11:00AM, housekeeping tried to come in without knocking around 9:00AM. I woke to the door banging against its latch. The place seems pretty careless.

The room itself is decent, and the front desk staff were polite. Housekeeping and the electronics were absolutely horrible, though. After a day of training, I came back to changed towels and replaced soap, but the toilet hadn't been cleaned. That's not a deal breaker. What got my goat was that they took the trash but didn't replace the COFFEE or remove the used pod from the maker. And the TV freezes every 30 seconds, so watching MNF is very difficult. I know some people can't be pleased, but that's why this is two stars.

The elevators are extremely slow, which made an already miserable stay worse. Halfway through, my room's air conditioning broke. I had my 12 1/2-year-old dog with me, and he sat in 90° heat for five hours. They moved us to another room, but it was hot too. Nobody offered any kind of refund for the repeated room moves, and eventually I had to check out because the whole place was just too hot. Don't stay here. I won't make that mistake again.
