Baymont by Wyndham Manistee

The front desk woman went above and beyond, though I never caught her name. We spent the weekend in a king room with a jacuzzi and had no complaints. It was clean, and the staff were the best we've ever come across. We'll definitely return. Thank you!

There was hardly any hallway noise, and we thought it was a great value. The beds and pillows were firm. Parking was limited, so we ended up at the edge of the lot, and there are two short flights of stairs but no elevator. Check-in took a little while, though the front desk staff were nice. Our room was very clean and nice, although it could use more updates. Breakfast was pretty good, with waffles, biscuits and gravy, cereal, eggs, sausage links, yogurt, and more, and we appreciated that it was served until 10:00 AM. The kids loved the pool, and we enjoyed the hot tub. There were two adults and two kids in our group, and we'd stay again.

It took a couple of hours to get settled, and that really affected our trip. We were given a room with black mold after the first room hadn't been cleaned, with drool on the pillow and pillowcase. The third room was good, but by then we had lost time, slept in, and missed the morning bite. That's an 8-hour round trip and $200 for a room down the drain. 😞

The staff were kind and very friendly, and the beds were great. The rooms were spacious and stayed cool with the AC. The bathroom smell people mention seemed to be bar soap, though the tubs need more scrubbing or new mats. We arrived late and didn't get to try the pool, and we couldn't find the gaming room. It was cleaner and better than I expected after reading the old reviews. It seems new owners have changed things up. Still, it has a Days Inn feel and is a bit thrown together for a Baymont, with about half the Days Inn items still around. There's more renovation to do. We couldn't use the bell hop because the only one was busy, and there's no elevator to the second floor. With a longer stay, hauling everything around would've been a lot. There's also no dresser, so you'd be living out of a suitcase. Breakfast was the worst part. For the price, and since a decent continental breakfast was one reason we chose the place, it was disappointing and inedible. Stick to the waffles. It wasn't the best or the worst, and I'd stay again if I had to.
