Hampton Inn Manning

At 4 a.m. on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025, I arrived after hours of driving from New Jersey, exhausted, with my 5-year-old child in the car. The receptionist said the system was down and would take about two hours to come back, so she couldn’t check me in and suggested the hotel next door. She also said that if I’d booked online, I’d have to wait until 3 pm to check in. Thank God I hadn’t booked online. The place next door looked run-down and unsafe, with people whose behavior seemed questionable. I told her I wasn’t going to risk taking my child there, and that I’d chosen this hotel because I have Hilton points and trust Hampton by Hilton. I said I’d look for another Hilton instead. Suddenly, the system came back online, and she found me a room. 🤔 I later found out online that the “bad hotel” next door is also owned by Hilton. It felt like guests were first being pushed toward that property, with a room here appearing only if they refused. That was deeply disrespectful, especially to a tired mother with a child after a 10-hour drive who just wanted somewhere safe and decent to rest. The employee clearly underestimated me. She doesn’t know how to lie very well, and you might want someone better trained for that skill.

My son and I stayed here on a recent trip to South Carolina. The hotel was clean, the beds comfortable, and worth the money. The women at the front desk were friendly and welcoming when we checked in. Breakfast had a good selection, and the coffee available all day was excellent. It’s in a nice location, with a quiktrip next door and plenty of places to eat nearby. :)

I’m a diamond member, and this is the only Google review I’ve ever left. My stay in May 2025 was the worst I’ve had in years. The place was under construction, there was a biker gang there, and there was no breakfast. Motorcycles kept us up for most of the night. If they’d told us ahead of time, we might have given this Hampton another shot. We won’t be back.

The rooms have been remodeled, but they’re still not nice, and the noise made it really hard to sleep. We keep staying here when visiting family because it’s really the only place around.
