Blackfin Resort And Marina

We spent a lot of time at the Point, the sandy beach area with picnic tables and lounge chairs, especially for sunset. The resort is also well placed for exploring the Keys by car, with Key West and Islamorada both reachable from this central spot. Restaurants and a grocery store are nearby, too. Hurricane, right at the resort, served delicious pasta and great cocktails. A lovely place to stay.

I called this place home for about a month and loved every bit of it. The rooms have been updated, but the small, charming property still holds onto the things that made the Florida Keys special. The pool was amazing, the beach area was perfect, and every employee was polite and accommodating. It's under new management, which has been a great change. I've stayed in plenty of places over the years and couldn't recommend one better.

We spent a week here in July with our family of seven and really liked the slow, easy pace. The accommodations are simple and clean, and the kids could head right out the door for a day of fun without another drive. Pets are welcome and have their own area, and you can watch sea life up close or snorkel from the end of the wharf. There's family fun here, and you can dock your boat at the marina just a short walk from the room. Our family highly recommends a stay at the "Blackfin Resort" in Marathon, Florida. Melanie went above and beyond to find us a last-minute multi-day booking, and handled the cancellation and rebooking brilliantly. Thanks to everyone who helped, especially her. It was a dream come true for my wife to get to know my mother, and vice versa, away from the family home and in such a beautiful setting. We all love the beach and sea, which is what the Keys are all about. Even during a record-cold holiday week for the Keys, the resort pool was pleasantly warm and soothing. The Christmas decorations were tasteful and cheerful, adding to the joyful feel. We loved walking through the harbor to the point and sitting there watching the moon reflect on the water. Blackfin's cozy, hospitable atmosphere made us feel right at home. It reminded me of a kind of hospitality I thought long forgotten, like what we've found in other countries or the homes of close friends. We'll be telling our friends about Blackfin when we talk about our trip to Marathon, FL!
