I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless you know what you’re getting into. We paid $2000 for three nights, $650 a night, and the rooms shown when booking are missing. You see the grounds and restaurant, but the room is just standard, like a Hampton Inn. This old Hyatt is recognizable when you first pull up, though the front desk is actually at the back of the property. The room was dirty at check-in, the couch had pink stains, the phone didn’t work because there was no wire to the wall, the shower caulk was coming loose, water pressure was poor, coffee pods were missing, and some lights were burned out. We went three days without towels and had no hot water. By day three the water was better, but only up to 98F. I understand water needs to be at least 120F to prevent Legionella disease. The hotel is better than a cockroach-infested hotel key west shack, but it’s not worth that price. The manager, George, did try his best and is making do with what he has. Still, spare him the complaints and don’t stay here.

The grounds were very well kept, and everyone at the resort was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and spacious, while other guests relaxed by the pool or in the seating areas around the property. There’s a marina-view dining bar and grill with indoor and outdoor seating. My wife and I both felt the resort was more than we expected, and we look forward to coming back. The hotel and marina are a gem.

The property was beautiful and quiet, with great views and plenty to do on site. Our room was clean and spacious, the food was tasty and very affordable, and the staff were extremely accommodating and helpful. I’d definitely stay again. If you’re very high maintenance, maybe look elsewhere, but if above-average quality is what you want, this is the spot.

Sammi Jo brings a lot of energy and attention to Lighthouse Bar and Grill. She remembers faces, chats with guests, and makes everyone feel like a regular. Whether you’re there for a casual drink, a sunset cocktail, or a long night with friends, she makes the whole Lighthouse experience better. Her warm personality, genuine smile, and spot-on recommendations make you feel welcome as soon as you sit down. Even when the bar is busy, she serves quickly, and her drinks are consistently fantastic and well balanced. If you’re in Marathon, Florida, grab a seat at the bar when Sammi Jo’s working. You’ll leave happier than you arrived. Lighthouse Bar and Grill is lucky to have her!

For $1200 for three days without breakfast, I expected better. The ice cooling machine in the hallway looked as if it had never been cleaned, our room wasn’t clean to the standard, and there were no toiletries at check-in. The cleaning staff came by at 8:30am each morning, yelling and chatting in the hallway with no regard for guests who wanted to sleep. At arrival, the front desk person acted like we were bothering him and rolled his eyes. I definitely wouldn’t recommend staying here at that price.
