Hampton Inn Marathon - Florida Keys

The grounds were immaculately kept, and we appreciated having room outside to walk our dog since pets are welcome. Our room was comfortable and a good size, and housekeeping kept it spotless and fresh-smelling. The pool was inviting, with a little dock for looking out over the water. Inside, the lobby and breakfast area were clean and nicely decorated, with a personal touch that made it seem like the owner really cares. Check-in went smoothly, and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The location is convenient for exploring the Keys, with shops and restaurants a short drive away and a fantastic restaurant across the street with sunset views. We loved our weekend here and look forward to visiting again. Highly recommend this Hampton Inn in Marathon, Florida.

Such a peaceful place, and I already miss it. The man who runs the hotel was so friendly and nice. The pool, rooms, and breakfast were all lovely. I’d definitely like to come back.

The location on the outskirts of Marathon is good, and the price felt acceptable for the Keys. Still, there were a few problems. The kitchenette cabinet handles were right down by the floor instead of at the top. Our AC was extremely noisy and rattled even more when it turned on. At breakfast, the hostess was rude or absent. She kept putting the waffle iron spray away and spent time on her phone in the kitchen instead of keeping the area clean and stocked. On the first morning I knocked on the kitchen door five times to ask for things that had run out. I reported it to the front desk, and on the third day we finally had a man on top of things. The listing said self-parking, but the final bill had a $10 nightly parking charge plus a $3 miscellaneous fee. No one mentioned the nightly fee at check-in.

A very expensive lesson. We foolishly booked two weeks, and there are no refunds. There was no view or beach, the pool was freezing, smoking was difficult, the bar was expensive, and the food was just bar food. They also charge $10 a day for parking. Our room was only semi-clean, with a torn headboard that looked like someone had bashed a head into it. Housekeeping was available only by request, and customer service wasn’t helpful.
