Sun Outdoors Marathon

The waterfront views were excellent and the facilities were very nice. Our RV site was good too, though getting a big rig through the narrow, tight roads was tricky. We stayed for a week, and the park office was shut when we arrived at 3pm, so I had to find a maintenance worker to guide me to the site. It wasn’t a bad visit, but with the price, I probably wouldn’t come back.

The grounds were very clean, with lovely spots to watch the sunset. We came for Spring Break hoping to spend time at the beaches, but it rained hard every day and the weather was poor. On day five, we told them we were leaving because the ocean wasn’t safe. We had paid for eight days and asked for a refund for the three unused days, but they said company policy wouldn’t allow it. I understand the policy, though sometimes a little flexibility could bring customers back, especially with more affordable places nearby.

We had a sweet little park model right on the ocean, with pelicans passing by all the time. It was a clean, quiet place, and there were plenty of friendly people staying there. The staff and owners were super helpful.

We’ve been coming for our last 5-6 vacations, and each time we spot improvements since the previous visit. We’ve stayed both in our motor home and in the tiny houses, and have never had any issues. The employees are great, the weather and location are great, and the prices are fair, cheaper than most places in the Keys. We enjoy the pool and the fishing too. Maybe one day we’ll move from Iowa to the Keys and spend more time here. Hope you like it as much as we do.
