Knights Inn Bonifay

I was highly disappointed to arrive at 5:30pm and be shown a room that hadn't been cleaned, despite being marked clean. The agent said on a recording that it was dirty because they'd been sold out the night before. She told me to take it or have no room, since housekeeping was tired and had done their best. That doesn't excuse checking me into a dirty room.

The beds had pee stains, and the replacement sheets we requested were stained too. When we called the desk for another set of clean sheets, Mike told us to check out and said he'd refund us. We were fine with leaving, since he'd made us uncomfortable from the start, but we'd booked through hotels.com, so he had to confirm the checkout and approve the refund by phone. We stood there and watched him answer, then immediately hang up. Absolutely horrific. Mike at the front counter was the worst, if that's even his real name. Save yourself the hassle and book somewhere else. It isn't worth the cheap price. The Holiday Inn down the road is much nicer.

Once we got inside, the polite man and woman at the desk made us feel more at ease. The room was exceptionally clean, smelled fresh, and seemed carefully made inviting. I didn't notice any of the moldy odor mentioned in some older reviews. The mattress and linens were comfortable, and the newer TV connected to apps. We'd been a little nervous because this wasn't one of the bigger names where we usually stay. We arrived Saturday night of Memorial Day weekend after finding every hotel booked, and the outside first looked dated and rough. The best surprise was how quiet the room was despite the hotel being sold out. We were upstairs, and even our footsteps seemed cushioned so the room below stayed quiet. It's not fancy and is a little outdated, but I'd definitely stay again.

The room wasn't clean, and housekeeping hadn't cleared out the dressers or the leftover food in the fridge from previous guests. We stayed a week and no one came by with fresh linen. The water only got slightly warm, never hot, and there were roaches everywhere.
