The Retreat at Balcones Springs

The Retreat made it easy to change plans when rain threatened our wedding day. The team helped us pivot on the fly, and we still had the best wedding we could have dreamed of. Courtney was our contact, always communicative, helpful, and kind, which made hosting there easy. From our first tour, we got wonderful food, personalized scheduling, flexibility, and plenty of enthusiasm. They listened to what we wanted and were available for all our questions. The setting can suit anything from summer camp lodge vibes to rustic Texan. Add ons like a s’mores bonfire, a movie under the stars, swimming and water games, archery, and facilitated team building made it feel like the happiest summer camp weekend of our lives. Even with all those activities, quality never slipped. The locations, materials, furniture, and supplies were gorgeous and high quality, so it still felt like a wedding. A wonderful experience I would do again.

It was easy to park and set up close to the pool, which made serving guests go smoothly. I catered a pre-wedding event at The Retreat at Balcones Springs, and from an ice cream man's point of view, the place checks all the boxes. The rolling hills, peaceful water views, and relaxed feel made the job more enjoyable. It's a fantastic venue with easy access and beautiful surroundings, a lovely place to make memories and serve plenty of ice cream smiles.

We really enjoyed The Beach, the food, the atmosphere, and all the outdoor activities during our family member's destination wedding. When my daughter got sick and was throwing up, the front office quickly brought extra towels, trash bags, gloves, and Lysol cleaner just in case. We also had trouble with the AC unit at first, but the staff and owner fixed it quickly. It was a good and fun weekend. My only drawback was the limited indoor activities, especially since it was hot, though maybe I should have looked into that more. Thanks, Balcones, for a lovely stay!

There was so much to do during our Beyond Driven brothers' weekend retreat. We went zip lining and skeet shooting, then enjoyed warm bonfires at night. The family dogs stayed nearby and felt like therapy animals. Coco was my favorite, barking excitedly whenever she watched us go down the zip line, like she was cheering us on. The food was fantastic, and the whole weekend was catered. If you get the chance, add their Tiramisu to your menu, and ask about the beach burgers. The secret recipe makes them extra good. The cabin quarters were cozy and felt more like home than a sterile hotel room, especially for a “camp.” The owners and staff welcomed us like family right away. It's more than an amazing property, and I can't recommend this destination enough. My heartfelt thanks to everyone for making it unforgettable.
