That little 1940s Soda Fountain, Luncheonette, Ice Cream Shop, and Mercantile is a highlight. It has a real step-back-in-time feel, and I’ve found breakfast and lunch hot, fresh, and delicious each time. I travel constantly for work and have stayed in well over a hundred hotels. When my trip was extended, I could have moved closer to the job site, but I stayed here because the service and welcome have been so good. The rooms are spotless, nicely decorated, comfortable, and smell lovely, without that bleachy hotel smell. Everything feels cared for, and it’s clear guest satisfaction matters. This is a family-owned place with a lot of heart. I’m going to be sorry to leave. I haven’t had hospitality like this elsewhere.

I went in for breakfast and the waiter was quick, helpful, and seemed genuinely glad to be there. That cheerful energy fits the place. The food was delicious and fairly priced, and the attached gift shop and hotel have lots of quirky retro things that are affordable too. The whole place has a 1950s-to-1970s time-capsule feel, from the soda floats to the vintage furniture. The surrounding area is small but has plenty of character, with a barbershop next door and antique and thrift shops nearby where you can find some great bargains. If you’re staying around here, at an Airbnb or the hotel, EC Reed’s is worth a visit. It’s a whole vibe.

We were visiting friends and heard about this place, so we gave it a try. It was convenient, just 15 minutes away. We called because we’d be checking in around midnight, and they said that was fine. They left the front door unlocked with our key and some check-in papers. Everything was very clean and looked freshly remodeled. The room had everything we needed, the shower pressure was great, and the bed was pretty comfortable. We’ll stay again and would recommend it.

Even just passing through, Marble Hill feels like a trip back to 1945, and EC Reed captures that atmosphere perfectly. It’s worth staying here. Christy and Everett have done a great job with the building and business. The whole visit, from check-in to check-out, was great. The service was excellent, the rooms clean, the food wonderful, and the staff great. I’m not sure I’ll ever be back in Marble Hill, but I’d absolutely stay here again.

The owners made us feel so welcome, more like family than hotel guests. We’ll definitely come back. After a full day floating down the Castor River, this was just what we needed. The 1940s look is adorable, like a charming time capsule, and our room was spotless with really comfortable beds. The soda shop was the star, though. We’re still thinking about the biscuits and gravy and French toast, the best we’ve ever had. The old-fashioned sodas were pure fizzy nostalgia.
