B. F. Hiestand House Bed & Breakfast

Pam and Dallas were so welcoming that they felt like old friends, and they put out a mean breakfast. The house has the character of an elegant bygone era, with dark wood, comfortable beds, and rooms that each have their own style. The details are lovely, and it seems like a great spot for a wedding too. This 19th-century gem is a cozy change from cookie-cutter hotels. I'm glad we stayed two nights instead of one. We'll be back next time we're in the area.

The hosts were warm and generous, and I loved the cozy room and atmosphere. Breakfast was just right, and chatting with the other guests was a real highlight. I wish I'd stayed longer so I could see more of the house and have tea on the front porch. I'll definitely be back soon.

We'd never stayed at a bed and breakfast like this before, and it was a fun experience in a laid-back, relaxed setting. My girlfriend and I were in town for the National Christmas Center Museum, which was very close by, and we drove around to see the area as well. We stayed in the Vanderslice Suite from 12/5/25-12/7/25. It was clean and nicely decorated for the season, with a large bedroom, sitting room, and large bathroom. Dallas and Pam, the owners, were wonderful, friendly, and helpful. Breakfast was delicious, and Pam is a great cook. If I stayed overnight in the area again, I'd definitely choose the B.F. Hiestand, pronounced Hee-Stand, haha.

The breakfast was delicious, and I loved starting each morning with the other guests, chatting and laughing together. The house was full that weekend, and I think three rooms had returning guests, which says a lot. I chose this place after seeing the photos and reviews, looking for an easy-walk getaway that felt cozy and dog-friendly. If you're bringing a large dog or one that struggles with stairs, check with Pam about whether the cottage is available. The other rooms are all on the second floor.
