The sign at check-in says there are no refunds after the first 15 minutes. They know the place is disgusting and won't do anything about it. Ewwww! It's now called budget inn, not Baymont Hotel, which should have been my first clue to leave. The concrete stairs looked like they were about to fall off. The room was absolutely disgusting, with stains on the bed coverings that looked like either throw up or blood. After reading the other reviews, I'm almost glad there wasn't breakfast, even though the listing says there is. Probably why Baymont said not to put my name on that.

The hotel claims to serve breakfast, but the area by check-in is full of roaches. I think the whole place is full of them. In the video, there's no smoke detector in the room, though something can be heard coming from the hole. I suspect it could be full of roaches too. A chair had a mark that made me wonder if someone had their period on it. Some things should just be left in the trash. The building looked like it was falling apart when they bought it. They don't seem to exterminate, and someone knocks saying housekeeping, but they never clean the room. I can't say it strongly enough: stay out. It's a disease trap.

The first night, Monday, I found four large cockroaches in the room and killed them. More showed up the next night. On Wednesday, I went to the bathroom before bed and saw two running across the floor. After killing them, I turned on all the lights and found four more crawling around. There were more under the sheets, and another appeared when I picked up my baseball cap from the nightstand. I stopped counting after a dozen. It was an infestation. I took my keys to the front desk and asked for at least a partial refund. They refused and offered another room instead. I was already itching and felt bugs crawling over me, so another room wasn't going to make me feel safe or clean. The place was filthy and neglected, with old mattresses, dirty floors, and a smell that lingered. Guests yelled until 3 a.m. I felt unsafe and disgusted, and wouldn't let my wife or kids stay there. I packed up and booked a place three minutes down the road. It cost more, but was clean and had twice the ratings. In the new room, I emptied every piece of clothing from my suitcase and even what I was wearing, ready to stomp out any stowaways. I still feel itchy and wonder if I'll have to throw out everything I brought just to shake this experience. I booked this place Monday to Thursday and regret not reading the reviews first. I'm writing this at midnight on Halloween (10/31/2024), after checking into a nearby Hilton to get away from the horror show. Save yourself the trauma and avoid it at all costs.

The receptionist was welcoming, but the rooms were disappointing. Maybe that's what you get with a cheap deal. Our first room on the second floor had no closet hangers and a refrigerator that didn't work. We asked to move, and the third-floor room had no bathroom lock and poor lighting around the basin, so we went back to the original room. They replaced the refrigerator, but the replacement was old and unclean. We barely used it. There were cockroaches around the floor and tables, so we were careful not to leave food out.

I asked for a refund at 6:45. The lady said, “you been here a hour I can’t but I can offer another room.” I walked out and realized it had only been about 30 minutes, so I went back and told her. Then she said, “well you been here 15 minutes and I was checking under someone else’s name.” The time frames are completely different, and there was no justifiable reason for treating it differently. The first room smelled like straight smoke, even with the smoke Oder and my perfume. Though more dressed than the second.
