Days Inn by Wyndham Marietta-Atlanta-Delk Road

We had to wait an hour while they cleaned a king room after we turned down the double they first offered. They'd gotten our reservation wrong, which was especially frustrating on Valentine's Day when I was there with my fiancé. The room we eventually got looked nothing like the advertised pictures. There were cigarette burns on the bed and the lights didn't work. It felt like a room in a mental hospital. There was no breakfast, despite it being advertised, and if you wanted coffee you had to be at the front desk before 9:00. I stay in plenty of budget hotels, but this one ranks near the bottom. I'll never come back.

The building smelled strongly of weed, and there was no continental breakfast. In our room, one bed had no top sheet, the blankets had visible dirt and questionable stains, and there was no microwave or coffee maker. We also had no towels. When we called the front desk to ask for some, the person was brusque, and the towels still never came. We're still waiting. Good luck getting any.

I had parking for my trailer, but I'd have been better off paying a few dollars more elsewhere. The sheets were so itchy I had to sleep with a bath towel on top of them. In the morning I asked to have my rewards number added to the folio for points. The night clerk had said to do that at checkout, but the morning clerk just wrote it on paper and said he'd handle it later. He also refused to give me a receipt unless I handed over a key. My room was at the back, and I wanted to grab my bag and get on the road. I'd heard the place had roaches but no bed bugs, and since it was cheap, I took a chance. In 25 years of working on the road, this is probably only the second hotel I wouldn't recommend.

The windows were so filthy you could barely see through them, half the lamps were missing bulbs, and there wasn't any soap in the room. Guests should at least have the choice to wash their hands or bodies. The rooms were just plain gross, with no excuse for being in that condition. They charge more than $10, so I felt ripped off. Days Inn needs to do better.
