Holiday Inn Express - Atlanta/Kennesaw by IHG

Getting checked in was simple, the room was clean, and I had no problems. It was a nice stay overall, though there was some noise. I heard music at 5 a.m. and couldn’t tell if it came from another room or outside, since my room faced the front.

The hotel itself was clean and nice, and the front desk agent was kind, but the noise all night was awful. Constant engine sounds made it feel like I was sleeping beside the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Sirens got through my noise-canceling headphones at least three times, and the stairwell door near my room kept slamming. At 1:30 a.m. I heard something, pulled out one earplug, and found someone talking loudly outside my door. He should be trained not to say a guest’s room number out loud, especially when the guest is a woman traveling alone.

I came to kenshaw for work with my service dog, who helps me when I travel. I gave the hotel his credentials at check-in. They later tried to charge my workplace $250 for damage they claimed my dog caused, though he was crated whenever I wasn’t there. Someone shared the room with me and can witness that what they’re claiming isn’t true. It feels like they’re trying to scam my employer. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, hotels aren’t allowed to ask why we have a service dog. I’ll be filing a complaint with the American with disabilities people. Thanks for leaving me to have a panic attack on my way home. This is why I have a service dog.

The women serving breakfast this morning were fantastic. I don’t know their names, but they were incredibly helpful with everything and deserve a raise.
