Rodeway Inn Fort Wayne Hotel

I was meant to stay a week, but left after one night. The room was filthy: there were crumbs on the floor, hair in the sink, a squeaky bed, mold in the shower, dark marks on the bathroom tiles, and grout that was black in places instead of light gray. The carpet was dirty too, and the ceiling showed a repair that hadn't been sanded. I was worried about bed bugs as well. Management refused to refund my money. Before I checked in, I heard the night shift worker and manager laughing about another guest who wanted a refund, saying the guest would have to go through their booking agent and that Red Roof would still deny reimbursement. I felt ripped off. This place is foul, and I wouldn't spend my time, money, or health here.

We had an easy enough check-in, a clean room, good shower pressure, and didn't see any roaches. Everyone was kind and polite, and we used the guest laundry room. They don't serve breakfast, but there is coffee in the morning. The main drawback is the location: it’s right across from a strip club, so I wouldn't bring kids unless you’re okay with that. We got a good rate and would definitely stay again. Don’t let the reviews put you off.

The parking lot had major potholes, and the hallway carpet was really dirty and smelled bad. Since pets are allowed, it could use a deep clean or hard flooring. The rooms could use a thorough cleaning too. I wouldn't stay longer than one night.

The rooms are spacious, but the place felt grimy and was noisy. The doors seemed loose on their hinges, and the chain lock was loose too, so I didn't feel very secure. You could feel the mattress springs, and the pillows weren't comfortable. After the front desk had already told me checkout was at 11, an employee knocked at 10:30 and told me the same thing. I wouldn't recommend it.
