TownePlace Suites Fort Wayne North

I booked a room with accessibility accommodations, but when I arrived, I was assigned one that didn't have them. I went back to the desk and was told that the accessible room was occupied by someone else. When I said that was illegal under Title III of the ADA, they canceled my reservation.

The only good things were the nice staff and being close to the zoo. Our room smelled so bad, like animals had been using the bathroom there for years, and it made us gag. The elevator and hallway smelled weird too, though not as bad. Furniture was very worn, and the carpet was coming away from the wall. Worst hotel my family has stayed in. Marriott, please renovate!

The front desk staff were really friendly, but housekeeping only came once a week. We stayed for over a month, and after work it was exhausting having to climb to the fourth floor because the elevator was out. Breakfast was the same every day with no variety, and it was pretty bad. The eggs tasted like they came from a carton, and the waffles were like eating granulated sugar.

For what it costs, I expected more. The room itself was spotless, but the elevator had problems, and the first floor hallway had scratched wallpaper and torn carpet. Staff weren’t very engaging, especially in the morning. Breakfast wasn’t ready at 6, and there was no coffee. The evening staff said the pool would be open at 6, while the morning staff said 9, and I never got to see it. The gym is open 24/7, though there isn’t much equipment.
