Holiday Inn Express Marietta - Atlanta Northwest by IHG

The room was good, the bathroom and sheets were clean, and the location worked well. Jonas was excellent, such a pleasant young man, and I appreciated that he discussed my allergies with me. The other two women at the desk with him weren’t as welcoming. Front desk staff should be pleasant and friendly to guests. I wish all Holiday Inn hotels were consistent about welcoming IHG members. Sometimes they provide water and other things, and sometimes they don’t.

The staff were great, the place was clean and quiet, and dining was convenient. The TV was frustrating: there were no instructions, and I couldn’t use the remote with the blank Samsung smart TV. The room felt plain and utilitarian, with concrete-colored carpet and no warmth. Maybe it was meant to be Swedish modern. It was just a place to sleep, except the bed was too soft.

I stayed for a few days and found the room clean and the staff friendly. Breakfast in the morning was good and plentiful. The location was okay, and although the hotel is close to the highway, the room was quiet. A good spot to unwind after a hard day.

We won’t be coming back to this Holiday Inn. The front desk was extremely rude, and they split our family across different floors. They also refused my credit card and insisted it had to be my husband’s. The account may have been set up under his name three years ago, but it’s my account too: I created it, made the reservation, chose the hotel, and used my email and phone number. Since we’re married, there should be a way to accept either spouse’s card. It was unprofessional and disappointing. I’ve never had this problem at other Holiday Inn locations, only this one.
