The room was far too hot all night because the air conditioner blew air without cooling it, and there was no hot water when we checked out, so I couldn't shower. The first night, noise from the neighboring room carried on loudly and explicitly well past 10 p.m. and through much of the night. We called management three times and were told they'd deal with it, but nothing changed, so we eventually asked the neighbors ourselves. That shouldn't have fallen to us as paying guests. When we raised the problems, management defended each one and offered neither a refund nor another solution. I know hotels can have occasional issues, but the lack of follow-through and care was very disappointing. We won't stay here again, and I don't think I'll choose another Best Western either. I thought the brand had standards, but it seems the hotels are independently owned. They also own the hotel next door, and given the staff problems here, I assume this review applies there too.

The rooms smelled moldy, and the fridges had a terrible odor. During my work stay, we also had stretches with no water, including an unannounced outage in the middle of the week, and there was no hot water either. I tried to keep an open mind, but now I get why my coworkers warned me. Choose somewhere else if you can.

It’s in a great location, but my stay had a lot of hiccups. After the receptionist left before the next shift arrived, I sat alone in the lobby for 20 minutes. The key machine wasn't working, and it took three tries to get that sorted. I went out to eat for two hours hoping the key problem would be fixed by the time I got back. I did get into my room, but then the TV and cable didn't work.

The location is great and the staff are friendly, but they can be inattentive. I like staying at Best Westerns, though this one needs a lot of work. The chipped paint didn't bother me much, but the room that was supposed to be clean hadn't been swept. The bed looked like it had simply been made without changing the sheets, which still had shoe scuff marks. Our door was wide open when we arrived. The TV didn't work, and the next morning I found fruit flies in my orange juice at breakfast. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Now I understand the low ratings.

We stayed just one night, so we didn't complain about the shower curtain being too short and letting water leak onto the floor, though that wasn't the guest's fault. The continental breakfast runs from 6 to 9 a.m., and I liked that Marina State Beach was about a 10-minute walk away. Our double queen room was clean and had a microwave, a large TV, a small fridge, and a desk for working. As far as I know, they don't require a security deposit. It was an okay stay, somewhere in the middle for me.
