Red Roof Inn Marion, IN

My stay at the Red Roof Inn in Marion, Indiana was very disappointing. The manager kept my $100 deposit over food stains on the sheets, while admitting there was no actual damage. Stains can be washed, and that didn't justify keeping it. When I calmly asked questions and requested proof, I was dismissed and ignored, with no documentation or evidence shown. They also didn't honor the RediPromise pricing guarantee during my stays. Several basic things didn't work: the toilet needed multiple flushes, the hair dryer was broken, and the refrigerator and freezer didn't work at all, so we had to throw away our perishable food and ice cream. The broken amenities, poor service, and refusal to return the deposit made for a very negative experience. I wouldn't recommend this location. I could go on.

I stayed here while completing my residency at IWU, and the location was convenient for all the travel I needed to do in Marion Indiana. The staff were polite and quick. I even left my cell phone behind, but when I contacted the Hotel, Praful was understanding and assured me they would take care of it. If I end up in marion indiana again, I'd trust this team to look after me the way I'd care for a patient in a hospital.

The front desk people were extremely helpful, especially when I had trouble checking in. They made it easy, fixed everything, and gave great service. My room was clean, too. If you're looking for a nice, cheap room, I'd definitely consider staying here. 😊

I was there less than three hours, paid for a full night, and left after the manager came into my room without knocking. I asked if I could help him; he mumbled something, apologized, and left. I've never had someone intrude so rudely. I booked online and put in the special instructions that I'd arrive between 4am & 6am. I got there at 5:45am. He emphasized that checkout was at 11am, said he had a lot of reservations, and demanded another $50 deposit. I paid because I just needed a few hours of sleep before heading back to NC. Outside, the place smelled of Marijuana, and part of the walkway to the stairs was cluttered with lawn chairs, a grill, and a tarp, apparently because of several long-term tenants. If there's coffee and tea in the common area, guests can't get to it because the door is locked. My room had poorly patched spots in the ceiling. The only positive was that it was somewhat clean. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else.
