Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel & Trade Center

The pool and staff were great, but I didn’t get any sleep. My bed had bloodstains on it, and the person next door banged around for more than two hours after finding two mice in his room. They moved him to three different rooms, but there were still mice. FML.

The reservation mix-up was the worst part of our stay. Before our second night, manager Dawn Ryan assured us we could keep Room 575 at Best Western for both nights. We had booked two consecutive nights and were paying over $1,200, so we left thinking everything was settled. When we came back, someone had entered the room, packed our things, and given it to another guest. When we raised the issue and explained what we’d been told, we were warned that we might not be allowed to stay on the property if we kept objecting. It was upsetting to have our belongings handled that way and to feel pressured after relying on a clear assurance. The communication was poor, and the experience fell short of what we expected for the price. The room was also not very clean. We found a bedbug and had to kill it, which was extremely concerning.

I’d stayed here in 2024 and 2025, so I called to book a 2026 stay for myself and a colleague. The call went to a hotel front desk employee, not the BW call center. She kept interrupting and following a script instead of trying to understand what we needed. Booking the room became much harder than I expected, so I took my business to a hotel down the street. Easily the worst experience I’ve had trying to make a reservation.

The food and friendly restaurant staff were a hit with the kids, and breakfast was fantastic. The team kept refilling things quickly and were really welcoming. Our room worked perfectly for us. There’s lots to do nearby, and the area isn’t as busy as Boston. We’ll definitely be back.
